loss of color on skin of scrotum

I have a area on the skin of my scrotum that is lighter in color. It recently started forming about 6 months ago. The borders are irregular and is about the size of a quarter. The skin seems smoother in this area and feels slighly raw. The skin tone is lighter in color slighly pink. Sometimes it will feel itchy, but not very often...maybe once a week. The hair follicles seem to be unaffected. I thought it may be jock itch, so I've been using over the counter products for about a month...this has made no change. The photos of jock itch I've seen on the internet look nothing like what I have. Any suggestions...Thanks for your help
