lump in the armpit

I am having this lump in my armpit which was painful at first and then after few days there was secretions from it ... yellowish smelly fluid.... i started taking antibiotics .... the smell went away though the discharge is still there but its colorless..... the lump is near the junction ... and there are two open holes one on the upper side and one on the lower side through which secretion comes out .... and the adjoining area is red and hard to touch ....

i was advised lyncomycin with enzomac, derolac and cobadex .... have been taking for 3 days now 500mg twice for lyncomycin tablets ....


the pain is still there and the discharge has decreased .... i was wondering is it a case of ruptured cyst or something else....

It can be a boil or a cyst. Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. . Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle. Treatment includes antibiotics and incision and drainage and do not touch or pick them up. Also apply warm compresses on the lump.
