lump on earlobe

3002885?1212714521
Hello.  I get a lump on my earlobe every now and them.  They grow to about 1 cm in diameter and are usually not painful or itchy.  They go away spontaneously after a couple weeks.  However, I got another lump, and this time, it extended down a little below the earlobe.  I lanced it and tried to squeeze it, but I couldn't get anything to come out.  Now it seems to have moved from my earlobe and has extended below my earlobe down the neck in a line about 2 cm, and there seems to be a rounded collection at the lowest part.  It is itchy but not painful.  It looks like there's some dark areas deep in there, probably blood.  What is this?  Is this going to go away?  Should I see a Dermatologist for this?  Is there anything I can do besides seeing a Dermatologist?  Thanks in advance.

Hi,
It could be an enlarged lymph node which happens some times when you nick yourself while shaving or due to cuts/graze on the face/neck.
Considering the fact that it is painless this is a likely possibility.
It could also be an infaction in the skin but this would be painful.
Since you have tried to lance it in all probabality you might have introduced a secondary bacterial infection.
So I suggest that you show yourself to a doctor who will be better able to help you.
Tou might need anti-biotics and intervention only if required.
take an anti-hiatamine for the itchy feeling.

Hi

As you have described this lump, this appears to be cystic in nature .It is also recurrent , non infectious as it does not appear red, painful or swollen. However, chronic infectious process may not be readily ruled out here.

At this point, I am thinking of a  cyst, probably a blocked follicle, sweat or sebaceous gland. I suggest that you have this assessed by an ENT specialist. You may need an ultrasound for neck structures just to determine why the cyst seems to descend down the neck area.

Refrain from trying to pick on this as the skin may be irritated and may cause some darkening and even irritation.

Keep us updated with regards to physician consult.
