melanoma or changing moes?

melanoma or changing moes?

I already have tons and tons of moles  but they have remained the same forever..since i can remember. a few months ago i noticed i began to get a bunch of new moles some light and other almost black in color. I also noticed that some of them seem to be deformed and 3 that were already kinda big seem to have spread out fading into the rest of my skin. the jerk dermatologist i went to said "oh you have nice moles" and said i'm fine he just seemed snoby and made it seem as if he wanted me out of his office ..i'm just wondering if i should really worry about this. I've felt so light headed with impaired vision at times and to top it off i have a rash that keeps coming back right in my inner thigh and into my pubic area that starts off as extremely dry skin that peals off and darkens..looks like sumone sanded me down...and i also have a lymph node right under my jaw that swells and unswells i wonder it its all related..in some weird way.

Well if you showed a dermatologist you'd think if they had any concerns at all they would have removed them. I don't think melanoma turns up in many spots at once though so maybe he/she knew what they were and just didn't tell you. Keep an eye on the black one and if it changes then go to another doctor. Melanoma spreads on the surface first and is curable at that stage so it probably wouldn't hurt to wait another month or two and check for changes.

The rash sounds like inverse psorasis but what would I know.

hey thanx for the advise. I actually went back to my doctor and she decided to refer me to another dermatologist so we will find out sooner or later. =-)

Hi,

What did your dermatologist advise?

The typical signs and symptoms of a melanoma are - ' Asymmetrical skin lesion, irregular border of the lesion, multiple colours, moles greater than 5 mm are more likely to be melanomas than smaller moles, change of a mole or lesion may be a hint that the lesion is becoming malignant or elevation.'

You could read more about the condition at the following link -
' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melanoma'

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions and it would be best to consult your doctor for a clinical examination.

Let us know about what your doctor advises and post us if you need any other information.

Regards.
