hi doc

I am a 38 y/o male fair skin auburn hair freckled. I recently
went to the dermo dr who stated i have a suspicious spot on my
back it meets all the melonoma critera, except it not raised, dosen't itch or bleed. its a little smaller then a pencil eraser. my question is I have a couple of these suspicious looking mole on my back that look just like the one the dr was
talking about. My  wife and friends pointed out about four others that resemble this mole just a little smaller. The dr
said it could be a large sun spot but wants it removed by a
plastic surgeon. I've had some thing removed in the past that were benign. what are the chances that you can have more then one melonoma on your back, this is were mine are. I haven't
noticed any change in the mold. I'am going to a friend who is a
plastic surgeon monday that will remove the area and biopsy.
Do late stage melonoma's ssm feel flat or do they raise and are
they more likley to bleed and itch or do late stage resemble melonoma in situ and the only way to tell is biopsy.

The chances of your having several melanomas at once is slim to none.  In fact, the fact that you have several moles that look similar to each other probably means that none of them is melanoma.  Having said that, I have to add that only someone looking at your moles can judge, and it appears that the skin doctor you did see only thought one spot needed attention.  (Obviously, he saw all of them.)  If you're anxious on that score, you should call and ask him.  Also, you should be checked regularly, perhaps every 6-12 months.  Ask your dermatologist about that too.

Best.
