misdiagnoses?

Doctor,
I have a two part question concerning a recent dianogenes.
Part 1)
I have had a bump on the tip of my foreskin since i was a young child (I think I first noticed around 7 or 8. I am 24 now) It looks like a small pimple, is raised and is flesh colored. It is not pus and has not grown, gone away or changed size for as long as I can remember. And there is only one on my foreskin.
It does not hurt or itch. And has not bothered me at all. I always thought it was just a bump.
I recently went to a doctor (a military doctor) for a non-related sypmtom in the same area, and with hardly a second look he informed me this was a genital wart.
When I explained that it had been there since I was a child, he asked me if i had been abused.
I do not remember being abused as a child.
I would like your opinion, is there anything like the bump I described that I could have caught as a child that would last as long as this bump has and not be an std? And look enough like a genital wart be midiagnosed as an std?

And part two is the same question only it is a bump in my groin area. He also said this was a genital wart. But I have also had this since before having sex, oral, anal, vaginal or otherwise.
Almost all of my relationships have been loving and lasted for months or longer. And none of the women I have been with have ever complained of my giving them genital warts or anything of the like. Up until a few days ago i was not worried about giving any women anything, because I did not think i had anything.
So I am very confused.

I understand your concern.  Obviously, I can't say for sure what these bumps are without seeing them.  However, the way you describe them and your certainty that they've been there since childhood make warts pretty unlikely.  I think you need another opinion, which I would get before you have these treated, perhaps unnecessarily.

Take care.

Thanks Doctor.
I feel a second opinion is certainly needed also. I also think warts are pretty unlikely. Not to insult military doctors. But I have found the practice of military medicine in general to be somewhat "iffy."

maybe large pimple would be more appropiate than "small pimple"
