mole, wart, std?

I am a 42 year old female. About 10 years ago, I had an abnormal pap smear, and the doctor had to freeze some pre-cancerous cells in my cervix. He told me this was caused by HPV. I had good paps since then every year and no sign of genital warts.
2 months ago I notice a small red, hard bump high up on the edge of my pubic hair near my stomack. It has turned into a mole-like growth, skin tone in color, and about a quarter inch in diameter. I assumed it just a mole. Just a few days ago another one has come up, a little lower and about an inch away from the first, but still in the mon pubis region. I've read that genital warts are usually small clusters. I have a doctors appt in a couple of weeks, but am concered about wether these are genital warts and contagious or something else.
