mole on groin?

I would appreciate a professional medical opinion on a skin growth. I have had the growth for some time, possibly even two years, but it may have grown in recent months. It is a mole located at the base of the scrotum where it attaches to the very inner thigh, with a somewhat irregular shape and coloration. It is slightly larger than a pencil eraser in diameter.

I have had unprotected sex in recent months, but I am pretty sure an STD isn't the cause because this mole predates any of those incidents. I live an active lifestyle and work out regularly, and I am aware that certain skin growths can form in areas of friction, such as this, so that may be worth considering.

It is a significant inconvenience to my work schedule to go get medical help, so I was hoping to avoid getting an appointment unless someone determined it was significant enough to warrant concern. A picture of the growth is located here:
