mole question again....

H iDr Rockoff-thank you for your reply on the other post regarding my mole with a slight color variation of light and dark brown within it-I was just wondering why my dermatologist would say to keep an eye on it-is it just because of the color variation-it is a thin longish type mole-kind of an irregular shape-almost like a smudge-it has been that way for a long time i think-but I only started taking note of my moles a few months ago-it has not changed within the few months.  How fast do moles change when problematic??  I just can't seem to ge tthe dermatologist comment out of my head...I am probably just paranoid.  If he had an question he would have recommended removal right-I am the one who decided to have it removed not him-at the end of the appointment he said everything looks good right now.   Please help I can't stop worrying.  Jill

I think you're right--he would have recommended removing it if he had any concerns at all.  You don't advise someone to "keep an eye on" a skin cancer.  I think he just meant that you should let him know if it ever changed.  But since you're taking it aoo, that doesn't matter.

Best.
