mole removal from back

Hey I have been to a dermatologist about the moles on my back. They are not cancerous however they are not nice to look at. I have two, one on each shoulder blade around 1cm each. My dermatologist said that because they were on my back if they got removed then the scar may stretch and look worse then the moles. I was wondering if there were any other methods to mole removal which would remove the entire moles with minimal scarring, as my dermatologist only suggested cutting out the moles and some skin around it.
