I was diagnosed with molliscum contagiosum this week and I was wondering if I have to get treatment. I'm at college and there isn't a dermatology office around me that is covered through my health insurance. I have had these bumps for months, and my gyno said they could go away on their own or get worse if not treated, but she wasn't sure if it was molliscum contagiosum because it's not itchy at all. My biopsy returned and confirmed I have molliscum contagiosum. I have been using this ointment my friend had given me from red bumps he had on his arm. I have been using it on my molliscum contagiosum because I didn't know what it was. The ointment seems to be working. It's called TriamcinoloneTriamcinolone Triamcinolone acetonide Triamcinolone acetonide in absorbase Triamcinolone acetonide topical Triamcinolone diacetate Triamcinolone nasal Triamcinolone ophthalmic Triamcinolone topical Triamcinolone-nystatin acetonide ointment USP, 0.1% is it ok to continue with this ointment or could it cause complications. It seems to be working, or it could just be that the bumps are finally going away on their own.
I also have the aldara creme thats used for genetal herpes.. but that's not what I have. I had that checked too. I researched you can use to aldara creme, but I can't figure out if I can use this triaminolone creme or not.. anyone know?
