about 9 months ago. I have been on and off steroid creams and tablets for some time cos my doctor said it was chronic dermatitis. I later(1 month ago) saw another doctor who has been treating me for tinea
.My whole body has been affected now and i can't stay put. I can not tolorate any temprature slightly above or below what is comfortable for me.
I noticed that it gets really bad a few days before my monthly period. I really want to know why this happens. Can/should the treatment be targeted here since this is the time when it gets really bad?
Hello,
Topical steroids change the way the immune system functions, and hence they can inhibit the skin’s ability to fight off bacterial or fungal infections. Steroids can also cause tinea
incognito which is a fungal infection (mycosis) of the skin caused by the presence of steroids. The resulting rash is a bizarre pattern of widespread inflammation with pustules.
incognito includes topical and oral antifungal medicines. So I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist today.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
