mouth irritation

by shewood, Nov 08, 2006 12:00AM
I had this condition for about 3 weeks and its on my upper lip of mouth and there's little white dots or spots going across my lip, its a little exposed.it will dry up quickly to any kind of breeze or just me breathing through my mouth,it gets really worst when im outdoors and or when i talk, there's alittle dis-coloration because it's the inner part of lip exposed outwards. I never had this problem and also embaressing  to talk to anyone i work outdoors as a carpenter which makes it harder. i use lip balms and nothing work please help me

I think you are describing Fordyce's condition, where you can see the little yellow oil glands against the pink background of the lip.  This is common and unimportant.  Sometimes it looks more prominent than others, for no special reason.  I don't know why you're suddenly noticing them, or why it's making you so self-conscious.  You need to have a doctor check you out and convince you that you don't have herpes or some contagious disease, and then forget about it.

Best.

Yes it is, from a distance.  Your description does not match any disease I know of.  For further information, you'll need to see a doctor in person.
