need relief

by christine821, May 16, 2008 11:14AM
I have had Lichen Planus for about 20 years.  At times its not as bad as others.  This year it is particularly bad.  I have tried many different treatments.  The only one that seems to work is injections directly into the affeceted areas.  Does anyone out there have a treatment that works for them?  The itch is terrible, and I need relief!

Thank you!

Hi,

It would be best to consult a skin specialist and discuss about immunosuppresant medications, and the role of UV therapy in your case.

You could read more about the condition at the following links -

http://www.emedicine.com/DERM/topic233.htm

and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichen_planus#Treatment

Let us know about what the specialist advises and if you need any other information.

Regards.
