need some info please

about 2 weeks ago ive started getting real itchy skin .. then i have had a few red bumps that look like bug bites appear on my penis shaft and head and balls. they looked just like mosquito bites, with a dot in the middle of them.. they were itching really bad so i went to a doctor.. she agreed and said she was leaning more towards bug bites but wanted to take a test for genital herpes . so we did and it came back negative .  ive been putting calamine lotion and hydrocortizone and its helped..does this sound like bug bites to yall as well.. i believe my doctor but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. ive also been itching real bad on my upper legs and pretty much anywhere else i have clothes on.. thinking maybe some bad detergent.. just wondering why the bumps were bigger on my genital areas.. maybe cause i scratch them more ??   just need some info if anyone has had this .. thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms I would like to rule out the possibility of scabies. Rash in scabies is usually found in the folds of skin and they are red blister like rashes.Yet they are very itchy and can disrupt life.

Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
