numb thumb after contact with Artic Silver 5

Over 24 hours ago, I was disassembling a computer.  The finger on my left hand had prolonged exposure to Artic Silver 5.  This is a thermal paste used between the cpu and fan.  I washed my hands thoroughly a few hours after exposure.  I googled the compound and all the company recommends after exposure is washing.  However, my left thumb is still numb where it was exposed.  Today is Sunday.  Is it worth going to Urgent Care?  I don't really have the time or money for this if they won't be able to do anything.  I can't imagine what could be done.

Thank you for the reply!  A section of my thumb still remains numb.  However, there is no rash.  I will follow your advice in regards to calamine and B12.  By the way, the area of the thumb that remains numb was where I was vigorously rubbing the thermal paste off the processor to clean it.

I'm wondering if soaking the thumb in Epson salt might help remove any micro-particles that could have lodged in thumb?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to contact dermatitis and damage of the superficiaql nerves. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can also take vitamin B 12 for a few days. If the symptoms persist then get it checked from a doctor.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
