one nostril only

Immediately after completing a routine colonoscopy my right nostril began itching intensely and I sneezed constantly.  No other symptoms whatsoever.  This continued for three days and abated a bit when I used Boroleum ointment for dry nose, however I find that inside my nostril is now swollen and red and I am getting small itchy red bumps on the edge of that nostril.  Could this be related to anesthesia?  That nostril did run quite a bit off and on but now only feels itchy and stuffy with the swollen area.  I have never had allergies and my other nostril has not been affected.  I have tried applying neosporin and also OC cortisone cream to no avail.  I work for eye surgeons and I am quite medically knowledgable but this has me stumped.  Do I go to a ear, nose, throat doc or my gp?  It has been a week and I am quite at my wits end.  Thank you for your time. lananana

this certainly was not helpful as I learned nothing new and next time will just go to the doctor as was stated.

I assume you were sedated through an IV rather than with a nasal tube of some sort.  Either way, I can't think of any connection with your colonoscopy.  If neosporin and hydrocortisone haven't helped, you'll need to see a doctor in person.  An ENT or skin doctor should do.

Take care.
