onset of psoriasis

after wasting a lot of time treating ringworm, i think i have psoriasis.  it comes and goes and when it goes, it's gone.  then it recurrs and almost in the same places (upper inner arm, fold behind knee and inner thigh of opposite leg.  my mother had this on her shins and back for as long as i can remember.  what is the best tx.  thank you.
