MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Since you have had debridement, dressings are to be applied which are to be changed periodically. In debridement, dead tissue is removed so that the remaining living tissue can adequately heal. Superficial opened wound can heal by secondary intention phenomenon, but if wound is a deep one, then resuturing of the wound is done. This is done only when healthy pink granulation tissue is seen after debridement and regular dressings.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

You need to be dressing this wound daily 1-2x a day using clean STERILE water, and gauze. If this area is deep enough to be packed with damp gauze use saline water on the gauze, pack the wound and then use dry gauze on top, wrap it snugly.

This should allow it to begin healing. My son had an open chest wound (after open heart surgery and complications) and we had to do this to allow it to heal.
