penis rash

My exbf of many years had a few rash outbursts in the head of his penis. It was small red spots that might itch a bit. they happened i believe like 3 times a couple of days after we had intercourse. We both had had a check up and didnt use condom. I never thought much about it since it would go away.

I have now a new bf and he got the same rash, i think, and is really worried since it itches. I had a complete blood exam a couple of months ago and it came back clean but it didnt test things like herpes or hpv.

what could it be? should i be worried?

Hello,
Streptococcal agalctiae is found in female urogenital tract and rectum. They are found commonly in the gastrointestinal tract and have been found to colonize the urethra without causing infection. Infection is very less common and is found in diabetes, cardiovascular and genitourinary abnormalities, neurologic deficits, cirrhosis, steroids, AIDS, renal dysfunction, and peripheral vascular disease.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

we both went to the doctor and i have streptococcus aglactiae. I got antibiotics for that and his doctor sent him a cream, his doctor said it was probably a fungus but im not quite convinced the cream is all he needs. He had been getting better though the area is still sensitive and a bit itchy though the rash is gone. If its not gone in a few more days we will both go to a dermatologist together, i think thats the best way to go.  I read online the bacteria can cause rashes, the thing is his doctor didnt know my test results since i got them after my bf went to see him and im concerned the cream is not the best treatment and that it could come back.

The other thing that i would like to know is how i got that. I had a couple bladder infections over 6 months ago, i got them both in less than a month and had to take loads of antibiotics for them, could that be related? Thanks for your answer.

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be folliculitis, contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes, dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic),excessive sweating causing sweat dermatitis or balanitis(due to an underlying infection (bacterial and fungal as well as other organisms) .

You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion on the rash.

If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
