penis skin rash

by desert, Dec 11, 2005 12:00AM
I have been in a monogamous relationship for many years. 5 months ago I visited a club where a woman simulated oral sex while we were both fully clothed.  Later I noticed that my jeans were wet from her mouth being placed there (could have been my seminal fluid or her siliva). To complicate matters, part of my penis had become raw  prior to the simulated oral sex from the friction of the pants I was wearing (jeans). Until recently, I have not had intercourse of any kind but over the months the rash would begin to heal but would return whenever my penis became irritated through masturbation.  Recently, after a two week period of no irritation and 95% healed, I had intercourse with my only partner.  The rash immediately returned and now a week later it is healing but has not completely healed.  The cycle is characterized by the same area of my penis shaft becoming raw, itchy, and someties swollen, and then begins to heal with some scabbing and very dry skin in the affected area.  My question is could I have contracted an STD through my jeans this way? What could be the cause of the rash?  And is there an over the counter medication that can treat it?

I don't think you contracted an STD.  This sounds like recurrent irritation.  Perhaps you're examining yourself more closely (too closely?) because of your concern that you might have picked up something.  I'd leave the penis alone, apply 1% hydrocortisone twice a day for 5 days, use a bland moisturizer like vaseline, and show your doctor so you can be sure and then relax.

Best.
