perioral dermatitis part 2

by jfem4, Sep 30, 2007 05:44PM
I forgot to add that I am a 42 yr old woman..allregic to bactrim, pcn, emycin,motrin...the last time I had the rash I was treated successfully with a sulfur based cream for the mouth part. The last time I had this, I had it around the eye as well, but never treated it, just the rash around my mouth. The MD gave me an antibiotic RX but I never filled it becasue it started to clear up ( the eyelid) without TX.

Is there another way to treat this other than antibiotics? It's not really bad...It;s just irritated...does it get worse?

As I said, I don't think what you have right now is perioral dermatitis, though the best I can do from a distance is give you my best guess.  I therefore doubt that antibiotics will help.  It won't necessarily get worse.  But to be sure, you'll need to see a doctor in person.

Best.
