dermatitis. First line of treatment consists of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. A mild soap or soap substitute, such as Dove or Cetaphil should be used for washing. Scrubbing should be avoided.
If the symptoms are not controlled by topical antibiotics, then oral antibiotics have to be prescribed.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Hello,
I've had persistent problems with periroral dematitis for over 5 years now. I was mis-diagnosed with acne for at least
2 of those years, hence the problem coming back. I had an outbreak over 2 months ago and its the first time that
it's taken so long for it to go away. I usually take doxycycline but my doctor prescribed me cefadroxil and said it does
the same thing. i took it for a month with no results. Now i have started taking doxycyline again.
How can I prevent this from coming back again and again and again???
I've stoped using fluoride toothpaste, any face
, although the same doctor
mentioned before had given me something along those lines to calm it down but i've stopped using that at least
a month ago. Also i use a nitrate cream at night which he told me its a anti-inflammatory.
Im concerned because none of my outbreakes have lasted this long. New bumps keep coming up as the other
ones are getting better. What am I doing that I should stop???
Please help!!!
