pimple like bumps on the base of my neck

i have had these red bumps on my neck for years they can get very irritated and sore. They first showed up when i worked a job with uniforms that were cleaned. first i thought the chemicals they cleaned with burned me but it has been 9 years and they wont go away! i have ties alot of remidies for acne with no relief. what can i do? please help!

These pimple like bumps can be due to folliculitis, boils or acne. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. Also please consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.
