please help me understand staff infection

my little 5 month old nephue and his dad has staff infection
and i need to know how in the world do you get rid of it i mean he has meds from the doctor but they are just coming back and my nephue just recently has had it a few days i know you can get it from in the air the doctor said to them but can this ever go away completly and can they spred it to others forever i mean i  am really worried about this probulem that is so common i heard from someone that if you if it reaches your heart or brain they can die please someone can you help me understand ????

I guess its just a bacterial infection. I got it on my arm right now and went to the ER today. It started eating away at my skin through a blister that got bigger and kept getting wider. Im pretty scared about this to be honesty but they put me on meds so im praying they work.
