Hello,
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Treponema pallidum. The symptoms start with a sore which turns into an ulcer, which is called a chancre. The chancre heals spontaneously after 4 to 6 weeks. Your symptoms are not suggestive of syphilis but can be due to dermatitis or fungal infection. Fungal infection is itchy, sticky and gives a smooth feel. So that is why I have advised you to get a KOH examination and fungal culture done.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
thanx for your valuable reply. Like u said if its a fungal infection , why thn no itching ? why didnt resolve by clotrimazol cream? Or can it be scrotal syphillis? sometimes when the scrotum shrinks( normal ) i dont knw the medical term for that, i cn feel the groovings . Is this normal? i mean the scrotal lines are kind of palpable or feels like thick in touch. and that is only when scrotum shrinks.
From the symptoms it can be a fungal infection or some form of dermatitis. It does not look like herpes which presents as itchy blisters which scab over. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get a fungal culture and KOH examination of the skin scrapings done. Biopsy may also be needed. Once diagnosis is confirmed, topical and oral antifungals can be started.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
