possible folliculitis

A few weeks ago I had what I thought to be an ingrown hair in my pubic region.  I pulled it out.  Now I notice that in the same area, I have a grayish colored bump which appears to be under the skin.  It does not hurt or itch.  What is this?

When you pull a hair out, you may get some lumpy healing tissue where the follicle was.  This is part of the body's repair process.  If you leave it alone, it should go away by itself in a few weeks.  Otherwise, have a doctor take a look.

Best.

Could it be a broken blood vessel?  I iced the area and the grayish area seemed to fade a bit.
