pruritus ani

can i use pevisone cream (triamcinolone and econazole) for pruritus ani?is it too strong for anal mucous membrane? i am having it for 2 days..and i can see no visible lesion..the itch is intemittent..i dont have haemorhoids and i am having no abdominal pain!!

Triamcinolone is a potent steroid cream and should be used with caution. If you are using it on the delicate skin of the anus, then it is advisable to use it under a dermatologist’s guidance. It can cause skin redness, thinning and atrophy skin and hence should be used with caution.
