MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From your symptoms cellulitis needs to be ruled out. Cellulitis is an acute infection of skin and soft tissues characterized by localized pain, swelling, tenderness, erythema, and warmth. It usually follows a break in the skin, such as a fissure, cut, laceration, insect bite, or puncture wound.

I suggest an immediate dermatologist’s evaluation. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

I would go to the hospital.  I don't know who are medical professionals here, but I am not.  This isn't a chronic, managed condition that we're all trying to improve through Internet-abled layperson collaboration.

A loved one almost died from something similar to what you're describing.  It might be different:  it might not.  Not being inflammatory.  I'm just a person without a medical degree worried about you.  I hope you get it checked out, but it's your choice.  It's also a new year though.
