rash everywhere but face

by crack_concrete, Dec 02, 2007 01:25PM
I woke up with a bad rash about three days ago.  It is the worst on my stomach and hips.  It is on my arms, legs, a little on my chest, on my hands and palms, but not on my face.  It's not itchy.  This is the third time I've gotten the rash.. the first time was about three years ago.  I had been really sick and the doctors said it was from all the toxins in the medications I had been taking.  The second time was about a year ago and they diagnosed it as scarlet fever.  I got my tonsils out after that.  This time, I was sick again, and I started taking cleocin.  The next morning, I woke up with it.  I have no idea what it is!!  Could it be an allergic reaction to the cleocin?  I've never had any allergies that I'm aware of.

Hi,

What medications are you taking currently? Has your skin specialist advised any medications?

This appears to be dermatitis, perhaps keratosis. The cause of this could be , solar, allergic, seborrheic, or perhaps any other cause. This will be elucidated based on the history, examination or tests including biopsy. Treatment options for many of these are similar and therefore a visit to the doctor can most definitely help you take some decision on the treatment.

It will be best that you avoid sun . Further use some medicated sun-screen and moisturizers as required to help in this. You could apply calamine lotion at the areas of the rash.

Please tell us more about the history and keep us posted on your health and what your dermatologist says.

All the best.
