rash on feet

About 2 weeks ago, i experienced what i thought to be a parathesia.  My hands and feet would feel like they were in a fire if anything touched them.  As days followed, it traveled to my legs and arms and face.  I was so hot, and this would only happen at night time. I was diagnosed with lyme disease about 7 months ago, and have been on anitbotics.  After this burning sensation, my toes looked as though they were sunburned. As days went on, a rash started to appear with blisters on a few of my toes.  This rash gets so hot and itches so bad it keeps me up most of the night. My MD has no idea what it is, and a infectious disease doctor doesnt know either.  It will take 2 weeks to see a dermatologist and i dont think i can last that long.  ALso, the rash is spreading up my feet, but very slowly.  Infectous disease doc gave me a cream, but its not helping.  Please help me! I need sleep!

If you are diabetic you could have ulsers that are infected. I know this cause I am diabetic. I have very sensitive feet. They do get hot if my blood sugar is up. I do have pain at night. I would get checked to see if you are diabetic. Your blood sugar readings should be between 80-130. There is a none fasting test that averages your blood sugar for the last three months it is called A1C test.

thankyou..it doesnt surprise me that its not common!  You are right though about the cool water...that is what ive been doing. I will get the other things, and hopefully it will work. For now my doctor has taken me off meds for 5 days to see if it is a reaction to the doxy.  Thanks again.

Whatever you have certainly does not sound like anything common.  The dermatologist will most likely need not just to examine you but to perform some sort of test, such as a skin biopsy.  There's not much more I can add at this time.  For symptomatic relief, you can try Benadryl 25 milligrams 1 -3 times a day, and topical Sarna lotion as often as needed for itch. Benadryl and Sarna need no prescription.  Cool water may help the itch too.

Best.

PS:  I would be interested to know what the dermatologist says.
