rash on my 2 year old daughter

by teifiboy, Feb 20, 2008 04:06AM
My 2 year old daughter has pimply red spots right up her back and lower abdomen. They have tiny pusy heads. The GP diagnosed chickenpox but I have my doubts as they are not itchy and do not blister and scab over... they just shrink in size and disappear. I also have my suspicion that these spots are very similar to ones she had in her nappy about two to three weeks previously. Can anyone help?

My daughter was immunized for chickenpox around 18 months, but was diagnosed with chickenpox this past Christmas (she's almost 5).  Because she had the immunization, the dr. said she would have an easier case of them.  They didn't itch much and instead of having a big scab, they shrunk down and actually had a pinprick scab on them.  I really had to look close and rub my fingertips over them to see if they had scabbed over (they were that small).  Do the spots look like they contain a yellowish, clear fluid?  If so, I would stick with the chickenpox diagnosis.
