rash on penis

by TOMMYBOY165, Oct 23, 2001 12:00AM
Hi,

I am about to go crazy. four 1/2 months ago I went to the doctor complaining about my lip and check on my face feeling a bit tingly. The doc said it may be herpes 1 , he gave me valtrex for a week. I had a allergic reation and my whole body became itchy. The doctor gave me a shot of benadral ( this helped me).

A week later I went away with my girlfiend, after a few days of having sex I noticed the top of my penis a bit red , it didn't hurt. After I came home I was masterbating (masturbating) then noticed the skin was like sheding. The next day i went to the doctor, he said it was nothing maybe next time I should use more lub. A couple of day later my penis was still red with a bit of a rash, I went another doctor, he said it was possible to herpes, I have had no pain or itching. He gave me a herpes cream for four or five day. This only made it worse. Know the penis was red and the skin ( i am uncut) was now bothering me (red). So I went to a dermatologist, he said it was not sexually transmitted. He said I had a yeast infection. So I started to use Oxistat, this helped but two weeks later my skin was still red he gave me a cortizone cream to use this helped.  I was aware of my rash when my skin was infected, now that has cleared up .

But my problem is I still have a a rash, a slightly different color than my penis. I had the rash come back red once again , the doctor gave me some loprox gel. I have used this for two weeks. I feel fine but I still can see the a slight rash I am afaid to masterbate as to I do not want this rash to come back as red as before.

How do I get rid of this, the doctor's say it's fine like this , but its not normal to me. I did go to a urologist he said I was fine.

thanks for your time

Too complicated, and too many doctor's visits.

Tom:

You probably had irritation all along, rather than herpes (which is blistery, not just red) or yeast.  But even if you did have yeast, you've treated that more than enough.

Chances are, the slight discoloration you can still see is just left over from the previous episodes of irritation.  This is temporary, but will take up to several weeks or more to even out, but it will only even out if you ignore it and leave it alone!

If your last two doctors have told you you're OK, it's time to stop worrying and let things ride.  Your penile skin will come out even in time if you give it a chance.

Best.
