rash or mark on scrotum

Hi All,

I have been experiencing moderate itching on my scrotum for the past couple of months, but never saw a rash on anything of that kind on it. A week ago I noticed an small area to the right side of the scrotum which has gone pale in color with skin flaking in the middle. And today it has been more visible. If you can look at the picture, there is a very small droplet forming on top it. It forms again even though I wipe it off. This is starting to seriously worry me. I would much  appreciate your comments

I too have a problem scrotum that itches intensely every time my fingernails end up scratching it. I've been trying for 2 months and used perhaps all of the anti-fungal medication available over the counter with no positive result. One burned unbearably each time it was applied that I'd end up washing it off soon after. Is my problem a fungal one? My itch doesn't seem to have subsided any. Also, I notice no rash, fluid, nor sign of any kind of the culprit causing me to itch.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms and picture it can be intertrigo or lichen planus. Intertrigo most commonly occurs due to bacterial, viral or fungal infection. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore.

Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical zinc oxide cream like Sudocrem, Desitin are very helpful(apply with a paper towel and not directly with hands).Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps but should be used after prescription.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist and get a biopsy skin done. Treatment can be started only when the diagnosis is confirmed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
