If this has been happening to you for years, then thi may not be it. But I am nine months pregnant and have had a horrible rash that sounds about the same under my armpits for the past three months. My OBGYN told me Benadryl which just made it burn and peel. So, then he told me hydrocortisone cream. it calmed it for a week or so. I recently started taking Augmentin antibiotics, which always give me a terrible, vaginal yeast infection.
So, I have spent the morning looking up Monistat use during pregnancy to find that you can get a yeast infection under your armpits due to a hormonal imbalance.
It is possible that you might just have a hormonal imbalance. If this is the case, yeast feeds on sugar. And plain yogurt contains a bacteria that fights off yeast. Everyone said that they applied vinegar to their rash and it went away like that. It will burn, though. So, i am about to try vinegar. I will let you know what happens. I wish you all the luck. I understand how awful and uncomfortable and embarrassing this is.
I have a rash under my arms. I have had it on and off for years. It slowly starts to get pink gradually until the skin becomes dark pink and flakey. It can sometimes become itchy and is under both arms.
I am a teenager, but I got the rash before i started shaving and using deoderant so I know its not linked to that.
The doctors I have been to prescribe an ointment, but it never fully goes away.
If anyone could help, I would love to know why I have this and what caused it.
Thankyou, Sam.
Hi,
Rash under the arm pits may be due to several things. It may be due to a sweat rash, atopic and seborrheic dermatitis , contact and allergic dermatitis , folliculitis and hidradenitis suppurativa.
How would you describe the rash?
Is this itchy?
For how long has this been present ?
Do you have any known allergies?
Avoid using any deodorant at this point. Wash the area only with mild and bland cleansers. If excessive sweating occurs ,try deodorant sprays instead of roll ons. Use hypoallergenic and organic products. Avoid tweezing and when shaving use only a sharp razor.
If this has been present for quite some time, a dermatitis may be considered. Folliculitis is a bacterial infection and may be contagious.
What triggers the rash?
I suggest you have this assessed by a dermatologist. Chronic inflammation or allergic reactions may be readily prevented or controlled. You may need corticosteroid and antimicrobial creams. Discuss this with your physician.
