rash

Ive had this rash on the head of my penis for years now. i believe it started when i was much younger because i have an uncircumcised penis and i use to not pull the skin back to pee. A stupid habit that i am much regretting now. Anyway It was about 3 years ago i started taking care of it the way i should but i still have this rash that looks like a bunch of tiny pimples. it doesnt hurt or itch its just there. use to be just on the foreskin around the head but recently its been on the head itself. what is it and what is the best way to treat it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

If this has been present for years, this does not seem to be infectious in origin. Differentials for this will be pearly penile papules or Fordyce spots. If the spots appear in clusters atop a reddish base, then this may be herpes. But herpes is associated with a burning sensation or pain which is not true in your case. Also, you have not mentioned of any significant sexual history. STD's may not be likely here as this has been present for years.

For pearly penile papules and Fordyce spots, there is really no need for immediate intervention as these do not need any form of therapy. They are both harmless and should not present with any discomfort or symptoms.
