Hi,

Rash in body folds is referred to as intertrigo. This is due to relatively high skin temperature, moisture or sweating, and friction from movement of adjacent skin.  It is particularly common in those who are overweight. Because of this, bacteria and yeasts which are normally resident on the skin multiply in such environments and may result in further damage to the skin. Tests may be done to determine the cause of intertrigo. A swab for microscopy and culture of micro-organisms to determine the responsible bacteria present or skin scraping is done if fungus is suspected. Treatment depends on the underlying cause, if identified, and on which micro-organisms are present in the rash. If this persists, have this evaluated by your doctor for proper management.

Take care and regards.
