red, pink and brown rashes on one leg.

Hello Doctor,
Its about my son who is just 14 months now.
From last few days we are noticing few rashes on my sons leg before there was only one of its kind but now its spreading. It is initially pink then turn red and finally brown. And the size also increases as it turns the colours. It is little raised and rough but my son is never scratching in that area. Can you please guide us.

Wondering if yasir05 ever got back to confirm what this was, I took my daughter to a family doctor and he said it was dryness of the skin.  This however seemed odd because several small pink markings appeared, turned brownish, reduced the size then became vaguely visible but very dry.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hello,
In toddlers, viral infections and allergic reactions can cause the appearance of such rashes. Since the rashes are growing in number, I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist because at such an age it is not advisable to give any medicine without confirming the diagnosis. Also keep an account of any allergen with which the toddler might have come in contact with.

I would suggest a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
