red bumps on my finger

I thought that a spider bit me on Saturday morning but the redness has not subsided, nor the minor itching.  It looks like a mosquito bite but I know it's not - it's winter after all and I went to bed and woke up with the two bites on my middle and ring fingers of my right hand.  It's in the same spot on both fingers but it's freaking me out.  I had a very risky 30 seconds of possible unprotected sex a month ago with a man (and I'm a man), so I'm paranoid regarding HIV and other stds. The top of the bump is whiteish (both bumps).  Any advice?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Differentials would be an insect bite, dishydrotic eczma, and herpetic whitlow to name a few.

I suggest you seek consult with your physician for a more definite diagnosis in case this may indeed be an insect bite and may need some antibiotics. The fact that this is itching may also point to a possible eczematous disease.

Wash your hands with a mild soap and avoid any sexual activity until a diagnosis has ben established.

Keep us posted.
