My boyfriend and I were long distance and just moved in together a couple of weeks ago. We have been sexually active everyday and have not noticed anything usual about each other until 2 days ago when my boyfriend said that he has a few bumps on his penis that look like pimples, and that's what they look like to me too. We do not use condoms and have both been tested for STDs before and are clear. He says that the bumps do not itch, only tingle occasionally and that 2 days ago there was only one bump and now there are several. Also, he is circumcised, and from what I have read online so far, these bumps are usually more common in men who are uncircumcised. We haven't had sex since he found the bumps for fear of aggravating the bumps. What could they be and what is the best way to treat them?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis without examination but these itchy bumps can be due to contact dermatitis, sweat dermatitis or scabies. Since you have the itching mostly at night, so scabies needs to be ruled out. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs. So my advice would be to consult a dermatologist and get this investigation done to rule out/ confirm scabies.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
