red circle

My 15yo son has a 4'’ red circle with 9 other red dots about the size of a pencil eraser in the center of his back. It just appeared two days ago. we can not find an explanation for it. It does not hurt, and is not irritated.

Thanks so much. This puts my mind at ease, my son does have Eczsema .so this could be connected. I am trying to send a pic, but having a hard time. It looks like he was laying on something, but he was not. I’ll see if I can send you a pic. Thanks again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or pityriasis rosea. Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching.

No treatment is usually required. In most patients, the condition lasts only a matter of weeks or months(upto six months)

If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. Other possibilities have to be ruled out then. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Warm regards.
