red itchy bumpy dry rash under mouth

as far as i know i have 2 skin conditions, rosacea and eczema. both reoccur from time to time. i was taking clomiphene 3 months ago and became pregnant. ever since taking the clomiphene a rash appeared under my mouth next to my chin down the sides. its sore, itchy, dry and bumpy. it occasionally weeps clear fluid from the bumps and then forms a white scab on the lumps. is this a bad case of rosacea i have no facial flushing in that area.? is this eczema or some form of dermatitis. normal emollient creams are not moisturising enough and i find only lanolin will take the dryness away. at first i thought it was rosacea as i have had this in the same area but metrogel did not work to get rid of this. i then tried hydracortisone 1% and this takes some inflammation down but is not clearing it. any advice the rash seems to have spread and is not getting worse or any better.

Good idea to see your doctor.

Don't use any soaps.  You suffer from eczema and rosacea.  Soap dries the skin too much.  Also don't use any shower gels or bubble baths or anything containing perfumes as that can aggravate the skin too.

If you use make up, choose the non allergenic types.  Or better still don't use any at all.

Although Rosex is a metronizadole cream, I do not know if it has other properties in the cream as opposed to the normal metronizadole cream for other areas of the body.

Best wishes.

Thanks for the reply. The blisters are fluid filled and if squeezed they weep. Metronidazole gel has done nothing for it and im currently using fragrance free cleansers and moisturizer it has helped with the burning and dryness. I will contact the dr and see what they can do the rash looks either to be dermatitis or rosacea but treatments for both are not working

As the bumps are weepy and crusting over, this may be a fungal infection, so I would advice an examination by the doctor so he can prescribe the right medication for this.

I suffer with Rosacea and I was prescribed with a cream called Rosex.  This is a metronizadone cream.  My face was so sore and dry and looked as if I had severe sunburn.  One application helped and after a few applications the skin recovered.  I apply it occasionally now when my skin starts to blotch.  The doctor also prescribed with a very high sunblock.

When you go out, make sure you cover your face with a broad rimmed hat to protect if from the sun and protect if from the cold and wind.

You may already be aware of what triggers off your Rosacea.
I was taking Orlistat to help lose weight and drinking losts of coffee with mega amounts of cinnamon.  Orlistat depletes the body of vitamin D, so I think that's what set off my bad skin.

Because you are pregnant, it is wise to see the doctor before you start applying anything like hydracortisone, but that didn't seem to work anyway.

Best wishes.
