red spot

by alaskaak, Mar 01, 2006 12:00AM
I'm a 32 YO male.  I found a red spot on my nose about a month ago and it hasn't gone away.  It's about the size of a small peanut, it doesn't hurt, but I can fee it when I run my finger over it.  (both my finger feels a rougher type skin, and it's mildly sensitive on my nose).  Now I get some acne, not a ton, and I'm not the best about washing my face with soap.  I don't have anymore spots on my body and skin cancer in not in my family.  I live in a very dry climate and do suffer a little from it on my lips. Any ideas what it is?  If I should go get it looked at?  Or what I can apply that might help?

Thanks

It's probably a pimple, or it might possibly be a blood vessel.  Neither is serious.  If it's a pimple, it will go away by itself, though it may take months.  However, you will need to leave the spot alone and not rub it.

Have a doctor take a look if it's still there in a month.

Best.
