reddish skin on arms and legs

My 15 year old daughter has a reddish coloring on her arms and legs which she is very paranoid about and this causes her to wear long sleeves and long pants, even in the summer heat.  Is there anything that can be done to reduce the redness in her pigment?  She is obviously fair skinned.

Since when has she noticed the symptoms? Is she on any medications?

She could take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine and see if it helps with her symptoms. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions to help soothe the itching.

Has she had allergic reactions in the past? Is she allergic to any specific substances?

She would still need to consult your doctor and rule out a bacterial or fungal infection or insect bite and whether she would need a course of antibiotics or other medications.
