ringworm or eczema on penis?

I have got some fungal infection on my penis, which has been there for several months, itchy at times, not always, seems to be either ringworm or eczema, but not at all sure what it is. The skin is very dry on that part of the shaft, if I don't use any creamy or oily thing, the area gets broken at different places and those broken places get wet. What exactlt it is? Would you please suggest me any ointment/medicine?

Hello,
It can be dry skin or eczema but the possibility of eczema is more likely. However in both you need antihistaminics and steroids. You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash. For the itchiness, you  can take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I would suggest going to a dermatologist. If the issue has been going on for several months you probably need something prescription dose to get rid of it. Plus fungal infections can be tricky, as far as relief goes, try a nonscented lotion such as Cedaphil you can get it at Walgreens or CVS. Keeping the area dry is probably best if it is fungal because fungi like warm dark moist places. But seriously hit up a dermatologist.
