ringworm or excema?

ringworm or excema?

Hi.

I have a some sort of skin condition that's spreading all over my hands.  There are many small bubbles in the skin on my palms and on/in between the fingers, which peel and form calluses and fissures.  I've had it for a month. Under the assumption that it was fungal (I previously had problems with jock itch and athlete's foot, which eventually cleared up with creams and sprays and ventilation), I regularly applied lotrimin to the hands, unfortunately to little effect.

I can send pictures if it helps.

Welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum!

Vesicles, erosions, crusts, squamas ('peeling'), fissuring, unresponsiveness to antifungal treatment, etc. are all characteristics of possible eczematous lesions. The goal would be to see what type of eczema is it in order to recognize triggers and eliminate them.  Feel free to post pictures on your profile page and we will gladly look at them to provide additional comments but the bottom line is to see a dermatologist who will provide well rounded diagnostic and therapeutic strategy.

Wishing You Optimal Health,
Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic
