rosacea and the scalp

by judyrap, Aug 28, 2009 03:43AM
I am a 68-year-old woman and suffer from a hypothyroid condition.
I have been diagnosed with mild rosacea that has affected my nose and cheeks. In addition i have been suffering from redness of teh scalp, in the central part region. At the same time, though maybe not connected, I have hair loss in the central region of my scalp. as well as in other areas where there is no redness.
My dermatologist has not given me a name for my scalp condition (maybe because he doesn't know what it is?) and has prescribed twice weekly drops of a lotion called Elocom (mometasone furtoate).

Could there be a connection between the scalp and nos/cheek condition? Could the scalp condition be re related to hair loss? ANd -- could someone recommend a specialist in Israel that i could go to?

Thank you for your attention
