rosacea behind ears??

I have been diagnosed with rosacea by my familiy docter. I have the 'classical' rosacea on my cheeks. But i also have 'hyves-like' (i thinks, my family docter thinks 'rosacea-like') things on both sides of my head, behind my ears, on my chest, and onder my hair (at the border hair-skin). It doesn't itch or hurt. But it's not going away....

My question is: is it possible tot have rosacea on other places then the 'classical' ones (cheeks, forehead etc)

I suggest that you follow your physician's advice. Avoid any known triggers like smoke, spicy food, direct heat and stress. These may only aggravate the skin condition. Topical corticosteroids are known to help control further flare ups.

Venessa, thanks you very much. This information is very helpfull. They also talk about plaques, i think that's what it is (i'm not from a english speaking country...so my english is not so good) . Because of the places and because it's appearence is different then what's on my cheeks. (and not 'classical; what you read about it) I was doubting if this was rosacea. Know I'm confinced it is rosacea.
I have got erythromycine and antihistamine, that didn't work. Now I have metronidazole, till now (1,5 week) it doesn't work either.
And i'm avoiding as much trickers as I can. We will see, know I'm more at ease that it's the right diagnose, so I will give it some time.

Do you maybe know what's true about the relationship with the helicobacter pylori? (a few of my familymembers had this bacterie, including my father) I'm wondering if it's a good idea to get tested...or if it is not relevant?

It sounds more like seborrheic dermatitis that you have, That is much more common behind the ears, under hair, and on the chest than Rosacea. Rosacea and Seborrheic dermatitis sometimes occur at the same time. I have all the same symptoms as you but I dont have it on my chest and I have occassional flaking on my face or behind my ears, but the sides of my face, near the temples are very reddish and I dont see that much in Rosacea pictures which makes me think that you and me either have Seborrheic Dermatitis, or a combination of that and Rosacea.
