i have 1 round itchy red rash spot on my right upper leg....it seems like its alittle raised, i thought it may b ringworm bc i kno 2 pple tht had tht n i was around them but when i went to the dr he said he didnt think it was ringworm because i just recenlty developed it n it grew so big in size...he wasnt sure wht it was but perscribed my a fungal ointment to put on it n it seems like its drying it out but the color is still there n has not shrunk in size at all....ive looked all over the internet n cant seem to find nething tht cound explain what it could be. do u have any ideas?
It can be nummular dermatitis or ringworm. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes. If the symptoms persist then topical or oral steroids may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. Also then get KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to rule out any fungal infection or ringworm.
