Hi,
Aside from the risk of secondary infection, popping the lesions and direct contact with the rash can spread the varicella zoster virus to a person who has no immunity to the virus. This newly-infected individual may then develop chickenpox, but will not immediately develop shingles. Until the rash has developed crusts, a person is extremely contagious. The person is no longer contagious after the virus has disappeared.
I hope this helps. Take care and regards
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
That will only make them spread, spread, spread...and leave scars too! I have them right now as well...so i know the pain..but you MUST leave them un covered (just make sure you have a shirt that is keeping them out of sight and away from people touching them) and do not touch!! Mine have finally crusted over and are almost gone b/c i have NOT touched them AT ALL!! I was diagnosed w/ them 7 days ago. But the pain is worse now than ever...leave the rash alone and it will go away faster!
